HKS SSQV - Whats the screw do????

From my experience running stock boost levels, the tighter the screw the sharper the noise, you get a better sound. I think it needs to be losend the more boost you're running tho.. someone with actual knowlage can take over from me now.. :)

The spring is under more pressure to not open the valve. This changes the sound to more of a whistle than a whoosh...the more you wind it up the harder it is to open and the less it does open and therefore, less air escape's - thus bypassing the entire reason for having it.

 

If you want to fiddle then only do so by a 1/4 turn at a time. But there really is no gain to be had.

Yeah, it spat it out sharper whistle than the drawn out gush b4. This was pretty crude testing though, I'll probably have another play with it on the weekend.

 

As Alex said though, I only ended up going back to the sort fo position it came as, maybe a little tighter. So probably wise to leave it how it comes.
