Jam127
Surely you cant just plug in an ecu and hope for the best? If it were me id fit it at the tuners and get it straight on the dyno/road with a mapper in the car to see whats going on, or am i missing the point here? Tricky-Ricky
Mines ECU where generally mapped for mild engine upgrades, IE decat free flow exhaust, and perhaps intake mods, but some where specifically mapped for a particular engine, so in theory, it should be fine as most where generic, but it could be a special. Mike2JZ
Any decent rolling road/tuner will have an external wideband sensor they can hook up to the car for testing. I'd get your car down to one so they can see what it's up to. Saves you having to buy a whole wideband gauge
Graham1984
Contact Mines and see what's been done to the ecu, might be worth always having a stock ecu with you just in case ( I had a problem with my Mines on a NA where it started running rough, failing to start- turned out to be a capacitor was knackered after the new owner had it checked out) so at least if I hit a problem I could still use the car as it's a quick swap. As previously said most Mines are a generic upgrade, boost, decat, manifold upgrade, decat, but still worth checking as it's possible you may have something out of the ordinary.
