Jellybean
Quick one , is there much involved or just basic tooling , unbolt the 4 bolts? Do I need spring clamps? Car is on Axle stands What are the torque settings for the lower and top mounts?
philw99
it's a job that's made loads easier with spring compressor i found, i'd used them to get the orginal's out on the front. Used this one: https://www.screwfix.com/p/hilka-pro-craft-coil-spring-compressor-kit-2-piece-set/45986 Getting the new front in was really easy, as they came apart then screwed back up on the tein suspension. Jellybean
Thanks Guys I was just looking at that youtube vid I suppose what I am after is good technique , tricks of the trade experienced mechanics have to tackling this Do you need spring clamps , I would rather not have to buy additional tooling for a once off event
samdale
Well there WAS a good, picture filled guide in the technical section. But photobucket are c****. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?177475-How-To-Front-amp-Rear-Suspension-Change-Aftermarket-Coilovers-Adjustment

pedrosixfour
I don't recall needing spring compressors for the CW Bilstein swap I did Carlo. Once the chassis is supported, the sway bars disconnected and the wishbones are free to droop to their lowest then I think it's just a question of bolt out & bolt in. Mike2JZ
You don't need spring clamps.
Jellybean
Thanks Lads, Will give it a go , what could possible go wrong
bignum
You'll need to remove the long bolt from the front upper wishbone, that's about the hardest part of the job, oh and setting the ride height, such fun! Also leave the rebound (setting on the bottom of the damper) alone, should be fine.
Jellybean
Thanks, I set them up as per KW default settings Will get Motorsport shop to set the ride height , corner balance them
ManwithSupra
Thanks, I set them up as per KW default settings Will get Motorsport shop to set the ride height , corner balance them /QUOTE] Best get some adjustable drop links then too, if you are corner weighting.. Marcus GTE
I fitted these last year myself. Took me about 8h but had to cut the old drop link bolts and only had a hack saw to hand. I’m sure I found the guide on here very helpful. Also remember I had to modify the top mounts slightly to widen the bore so the top bolt would fit through. Good luck

T2 MSW
Thanks , all my suspension is new so I am hoping a relatively easy time /QUOTE] Just take your time especially on the drop link bolts as said as thats where time gets eaten for fun. However if its all relatively new you should be ok. Poss have a set of spring compressors to hand just incase as the front is very close but as also said before I think you can do it without. Best of luck, Let us know what you think of the KWs once done as we are trying to convince another member thats the way to go on his BMW. Marcus GTE
Will do , I have Bilstein TRD on so hopefully they are alot more comfortable They will be! Only thing I found with them is they can squeak while going over things like speed bumps etc. I contacted KW and they said it’s the oil traveling through the shock and normal. It seems to be during colder weather (where I guess the oil is thicker). When I get the car back on the rd after winter I’d like to try their softest setting for a while just to see what it’s like. FYI I don’t think you are meant to have them on the apsolute softest OR hardest settings; it’s meant to be one back from it.

bignum
Havn`t got a clue sorry mate, it will depend on how much you lower the car as to what angle it affects the arb, also defo don`t go too low with the front as you WILL have rubbing issues, the 685lbs springs arent really stiff enough for the supra.as i found out!
