Carbon Scuttle gap

Water will get down there, even with an oem trim piece. The rubber isn't sealed to the glass, so will never be water tight.

It's to stop leaves and shit getting down there, and probably to stop it reverberating against the screen at speed.

That warp is probably just a byproduct of a composite part. Solid plastic is a lot more resilient to warping through external factors (sun, cold, etc)

I think it's more my OCD wanting it to fit evenly all the way across more than anything else. After all the factory plastic one has big vent holes in it so isn't exactly waterproof.

I'd get some 3m refix double sided tape (what badges are stuck on with its really thin) and put under it mate. That will keep it down and is easily removable should you need too.

Great plan. I've got some of that stuff already, I'll dig it out and stick the bugger down!

So basically bond the edge of the scuttle to the windscreen? Will be interesting if I even need a new windscreen...........

no, no - don't use something to 'bond' it.

Black silicon will remain rubbery, like the sealant around the top of a bath and the tiles. If you ever needed to change the windscreen the silicon should just peel away. The silicon will help keep the majority of running water from getting in there but remain flexible and removable. Stay away from bonding materials like tiger seal etc.

For the money they cost and compared to how the oem sits flush. Id return it. That would drive me nuts personally mark. And there have been pictures of good fitting ones. Id ask for a replacement.

If your happy to. Get some thin 10mm double sided tape and thatll pull it in shape. But end of the day it should sit flush.
