Big Mark Posted January 19, 2018 Share Posted January 19, 2018 Anyone else with the carbon scuttle got gaps where the rubber sealing strip meets the glass in one or two places? Not sure if it's normal, or mine is warped. Either way how the hell do I get the sealing strip to seal, I don't want water getting down there. It's to stop leaves and shit getting down there, and probably to stop it reverberating against the screen at speed. That warp is probably just a byproduct of a composite part. Will be interesting if I even need a new windscreen........... no, no - don't use something to 'bond' it. Black silicon will remain rubbery, like the sealant around the top of a bath and the tiles. If you ever needed to change the windscreen the silicon should just peel away. The silicon will help keep the majority of running water from getting in there but remain flexible and removable. And there have been pictures of good fitting ones. Id ask for a replacement. If your happy to. Get some thin 10mm double sided tape and thatll pull it in shape.
