Jellybean
The Tokyo Auto Salon 2018 serves as the venue for a big Toyota release. The hybrid Toyota GR Super Sports Concept is based on the Toyota WEC Championship competitor, the TS050 Hybrid. The concept might indicate an upcoming road-legal hypercar to compete with the likes of Mercedes-AMG and Aston Martin. Very little information has been released about the concept. We know that it gets a twin-turbo, direct injection V6 engine coupled with a Toyota Hybrid System lifted from the LMP1 car. Combined power is quoted to be an even 1,000 hp. http://gtspirit.com/2018/01/13/official-toyota-gr-super-sports-concept-1000hp-hybrid-hypercar/

Gaz6002
I have two bits of news to tell you all about this car, and they're both good: First, I believe they're going to build it. Second, the hybrid system is highly likely to feed directly into the 'new Supra'.

Gaz6002
Sounds interesting Gaz. Why does everyone keep saying the highly photographed BMW thing is the new Supra? It's the same platform, but the new Z4 will be a convertible and Supra a coupe. Both brands are keen to have major differences between the two models so expect the Toyota to be its own car. The MD at my local Mr T went away to show recently and came back saying this wasn’t the new Supra. So are the photos of the supposed new Supra the BMW version of the shared platform with Toyota? Meaning Toyota’s version still hasn’t been seen?

Gaz6002
Gaz , will they sell the car via toyota dealership or lexus , under Gazoo? That part is unclear. They could actually sell a Supra, and then a hotter Gazoo version later on... sort of like having an NA and then a TT. Not sure yet though. Im confused (doesn’t take much). Meaning Toyota’s version still hasn’t been seen? There are spy shots of the new Supra circulating on the web. We've seen the FT-1 concept, which is the inspiration, but we haven't seen the finished design of the Supra yet. The platform is the same as the BMW one, but the car on top will be quite different. Next someone will ask which is best There are spy shots of the new Supra circulating on the web.
