Toyota OEM parts Trim/seal

Hi guys where is the best/cheap place to purchase exterior trims/seals? As UK is still expensive! I have read few mixed reviews on Amayama (still waiting their reply), Paul at TCB is more expensive than Steve from oxford. Any other good recommended sources please?

The only downside to amayama is that often they can say they are in stock/available and then it turns out they are not. Otherwise they are reliable delivering wise you just have to allow for postage and duty (ie they don't always work out cheaper than elsewhere) Also be careful as they quote parts from Japan and UAE so if you mix places you incur x2 lots of shipping.

Ah another downside is fortnight min turnaround.

I've also used USA suppliers and these guys have always come through, or Rock Auto. They do both ship US Mail though which does incur Royal Mail handling charges and delays this side (similar to Amayama orders) so never used for cheap or bulky parts. With the USA Toyota dealers, you can only go with generic model parts though as they cannot handle left hand drive specific parts.

On the UK guys, I find Steve is less interested in small value orders than Paul so now push most orders through TCB even if they aren't the cheapest. Another UK option is Burrows Toyota who will give 10% discount (similar to Inchcape Toyota) if you ask. Burrows have an eBay shop which often comes up with useful parts at discounted prices, I just bought a new crash bar from them via eBay for £169 delivered. No one else could match that price which is surprising when you think of the eBay commission on the sale.

Loads of places will sell at different prices. When i was looking for all my aero seals and mouldings i ended up buying from many different suppliers as each part was differently priced. So worked it out to get all at the cheapest total i could including importing.

Amayama will only check stock before purchase if you specify the option.

I tend to do this with them and when they approve it I've never had a dropped part.

Sometimes I have to chase and they'll often fail to notify of items having been posted. You know it's in the UK when you get the Royal Mail import duty notice.

Other than that I find them the cheapest, in general. You can occasionally get certain parts cheaper from UK suppliers when factoring import duty and VAT etc. But it's rare.

I work on postage, VAT and duty costs being approx 65% of the Amayama price.

Don’t forget you need to add duty if it’s more than £130 and vat on anything over £5 :) in the end in doesn’t work out massively cheaper.

I am just waiting their reply, Steve manly and Whifbitz never let me down, although I want to weigh the cost as the VAT added, Amayama work out cheaper.
