Thread I didn't notice part of the instructions on the CTEK charger and that probably contributed to the demise of my battery. If running an Optima or Odyssey dry cell battery the charger needs to be in option 3 AGM mode. This will fast charge the battery and allow it to discharge some before charging up again, preventing prolonged heat build up which these battery types hate in particular. Attached a pic from the CTEK 5.0 manual. Full instructions here Have replaced the busted battery with 2 of the same brand and type for a larger charge capacity wired in parrallel, and will use the same CTEK charger as before, as it's very good.
