Suprakeith
Well I just can’t believe my luck I really can’t, I currently doing forged engine rebuild and it’s been one let down after another with people and parts but have tried to stay positive and focused on end goal but at minute I really do feel like throwing the towel in now. After all the crap I had with head ported and polished and finally get it back couple days ago, I was planning to finally get head on the built block today so can start moving forward with build. So late last night I start lining up all the gaskets and checking have the right nuts and bolts with each part, go to check the ARP head bolts and open the box to find they have put in main studs in by mistake, checked the code on box on there website and it should be head bolts but some how someone has put the wrong items in. I have emailed them with pictures but cause it’s Christmas obviously nothing can get sorted till next year so now can’t get engine built as planned which is going to put me further behind. I am so f***ed off with it all I just don’t believe my luck
j_jza80
See if whifbitz (enfield) are open? Not too far from you, and might keep those in stock?

I looked on his website and couldn’t see if open over Xmas but did order ARP head bolts, thought he should be quicker sending them out and can just send wrong one back in the new year
Supra-love
Feel for you mate, keep your head up, just think of it as just a set of bolts it’s that can be replaced, nothing is plain sailing especially building engines! New year soon mate. Hopefully a good one for all of us!
Suprakeith
Oh yea it’s just bolts just annoyed as off work for 10days and was hoping to get it built up to save me doing it when back at work as do over 60 hours a week and don’t get much time, i just hope the build doesn’t throw up anymore crap as was planning to have her running March/April time so can enjoy her again. I spent over 10k on build now and it’s so frustrating after spending that amount and top companies are the ones causing the crap for me , I still even haven’t had a reply email from King bearings after they sent me faulty bearings, it just seems these companies are happy to take money but not intrested in sending right parts or parts fit for use. And oh yes let’s hope new year is better for us all for sure

Supra-love
Totally understand mate, it’s alright for me to say it’s just bolts, but like you say it’s a long build, a lot of money and time is always of the essence. Lots of company’s out there do seem to snap our money up and at a good profit, then forget about us and carry on making more money with others. Then when issues arise they don’t want to know you as well. Hope all gets sorted and as above try calling around today might get lucky
Suprakeith
Cheers guys and yea I def going to ring around today and see if can get set of head studs sorted. It is long expensive build but I know will be worth it. Just guess it’s all part of the journey. I am little bit annoyed at myself as I should of checked when they turned up but thought keep them wrapped up and protected from any dirt. I have a quick look then store until ready to fitment stage. You building yours by self at home or something mate? Thinking about doing that myself, problem for me is space to do it. And yea building it by myself at home done well so far, and just need to be clever with space I only got small two bed house and small garage but I put the bits in plastic boxes and stacked them out way under bed and in reptile room plus all the body work is in rafters in the garage. It’s great sense of pride and pleasure doing it yourself would recommend it to everyone as any one can take a car to garage and pick it up when done. And when’s it done can say I built that and no one can take that away from you

Yea I have been thinking about putting up bad review for companies that let me down, just need to do it constructively as know will will go overboard if not thinking straight. The one that has shocked me the most is king bearings as have emailed them few times and haven’t been nasty at all and haven’t had single reply at all. Your lucky I’m currently in a flat and store in a small garage, council sized, so even more limited but trying to get a house atm also. Fingers crossed. Can’t agree more it’s got your stamp on it and that is worth its weight in gold to yourself alone! Brilliant!

Cheers bud [emoji106] Yea built few engines in past but always hate mate Craig helping together we rebuilt my old S2 Rs Turbo and couple of his mkiii supra’s 7m engine and also his 1jz. But unfortunately he passed away few years ago half hour before his 40th bday and it’s been such a struggle doing it on my own. I did take engine block to mates garage as wanted someone to check all gaps and tolerances which was big help as it’s always good to have extra eyes to check getting same gaps. I ported & polished the head myself at work on cnc machine and then just have head place match port inlet and outlet. Having own stamp on build is defiantly the best thing about doing it
