Darren M
Hi all. Are the front brake splash guards easy to replace. It looks at a quick glance that the hub needs removing to get to the bolts and to remove the old ones. This seems pretty major just to replace these. Any advice please. Car is na j-spec. Thanks Darren.
evinX
Replacing for bigger shields? You can cut a slot on the old and new ones. Slip them on and off and put the 4 bolts back on. Easy.

Cheers Yes with a spanner. With the ones on the car youll need tin snips to make the slot to slide them off the hub. Front of the car is easy but rear will definatley be a hub off job as the shield is part of the handbrake shoe mechanism.

griffsplace
Mine were completely rusted, all of the bolts sheared rather than coming undone, Going to run without them now. They have just had new wheel bearings and are warming up before getting a lick of paint.

evinX
You cant just put a socket or a spanner on a 20 year old bolt and expect it will loosen. When i did mine, or any bolt under the car ive had to touch i use my blowtorch or microjet, i learnt that on my old supra
rider
I had both front dust shields replaced at the same time as the wheel bearings were changed which seemed a sensible thing to do. Not cut and botched but old for new.

And think jspec ones are similar UK fronts are £35 per side.

Josh42
And thats why i trimmed mine like rider says at any point i may need bearings ill fit new uks properly Same thoughts as myself. Trimmed them for now and when the time comes to replace wheel bearings or arms, I’ll replace them with UK’s.
