Front brake splash guards

Hi all. Are the front brake splash guards easy to replace. It looks at a quick glance that the hub needs removing to get to the bolts and to remove the old ones. This seems pretty major just to replace these. Any advice please. Car is na j-spec. Thanks Darren.

Replacing for bigger shields? You can cut a slot on the old and new ones. Slip them on and off and put the 4 bolts back on. Easy.

Thanks. I was gonna replace with same size. Can you slot the old ones and get to the bolts with wheel hub still on ? Cheers

Yes with a spanner. With the ones on the car youll need tin snips to make the slot to slide them off the hub. Front of the car is easy but rear will definatley be a hub off job as the shield is part of the handbrake shoe mechanism.

The rears are very expensive I know UK ones were £300 per side! And think jspec ones are similar UK fronts are £35 per side.

And thats why i trimmed mine :D like rider says at any point i may need bearings ill fit new uks properly

Same thoughts as myself. Trimmed them for now and when the time comes to replace wheel bearings or arms, I’ll replace them with UK’s.
