supradanturbo
I'm looking into a set of evo rear calipers. From what I have concluded they bolt straight on and use jspec rear discs. Has anyone used them? And can confirm fitment etc. Any help would be good. Cheers.
j_jza80
I VERY much doubt this is the case, and even of it were, what effect would it have on the cars brake balance? What front brakes are you using?
supradanturbo
I have asked 2 different people that have told me the exact same thing. I'm using jspecs. Will be upgrading to ksport fronts soon. I need something that still clear 15s
j_jza80
So the evo rear brembos have the same bolt offsets, the same disc hat heights, and the same disc diameter offsets? Not impossible, but highly doubtful. I would also guess that using Evo rear calipers would be dangerous with oem jdm front calipers, as it will likely throw the bias to the rear. What pads will fit? They may be okay with the k sports, but you would really need to discuss that with k sport.
j_jza80
I seem to remember an old club member (cant remember his name, had a gorgeous blue do luck aerotop, and was some sort of aero engineer) fitted evo calipers to his, and had to machine brackets for them. Edit: Supradibbs / Wayne I think. Edited December 5, 2017 by j_jza80 (see edit history)
supradanturbo
I know sounds highly unlikely. But apparently that's the case.

supradanturbo
No didn't in the end. Couldn't get the calipers cheap enough to risk it.

Even *if* by some chance the calipers do bolt on and fit over the small rear discs, what effect does this have on braking force? Which pads can be used, and do they fit the discs correctly? Which brake hoses are needed?
BoostJunky86
Just find some UK/Euro spec rears? Would that not be easier. Although pad choice is a bit crap in the Toyota calipers
P_Bazz
They do not fit perfectly, but due to the bolts being smaller and EVO caliper bracket being slightly narrower than the Supra hubs they do fit. You can use the stock 307mm discs but the offset is wrong. This can be corrected by putting shims behind the pads but it will also correct itself being a double piston system. I would not recommend it and just run the Jspec rears if you want to run 15" rear wheels.

No one has mentioned piston diameter, unless they are the same as UK spec ones and are on a similar diameter disc with similar pad areas brake balance will be different and possibly dangerously biased to the rear. There are lots of things to consider doing caliper swaps.
