Hi all, I am trying to trace a MK3, I owned 20yrs ago, Reg F860 FUB. I met my wife while I owned it but ended up selling when the 1st child came along. It is our 20th wedding anniversary April 2019 and I would love to get it back for then. Does anybody know of it's existence ? any help gratefully received.

Good luck with the search unfortunately as im sure you're well aware, the past 20 years havent been kind to the mk3 population.

 

Have you checked the reg no. with the dvla to see if it is still registered?

no history of mot for 12 years, good luck mate sounds like she may be a gonner

Alot of mk3s were butchered for their engines alot rusted out. With it being unrecorded for 12 years your chances are slim. Although theres always that chance it might be parked up somewhere. Apply for the v5. 25 quid. Youll get the past owners detail on it. Duno of thats illegal or not.

It's not legal.

 

I'd suggest paying for an HPI check. If the car was scrapped it should tell you. That's assuming anyone notified the DVLA of this when it was.

 

As suggested, it likely got parked up and stripped for parts, but there is always a glimmer of hope with these things.

Another possibility is it being private plated 12 years ago. Slim possibility but one that a HPI check would bring up.

It wouldn't come up on the mot search if the reg had changed

 

Last time it was taxed was May 2011 according to total car check
