fastcar
Have a B04B diff in my box of tricks and wondered if anyone knew what these went for now? Thanks in advance
SPG
Is this the full diff with casing or just the innards?
fastcar
Is this the full diff with casing or just the innards? Full case bud! Innards and outer casing

Mika
It is actually B04D differential, large case (220mm) with 3.538:1 ratio and Torsen lsd + external oil cooler circulation via diff oil pump.

No it's a B04B Torsen LSD no oil cooler from an auto
fastcar
I’d say your looking at £1k > as a start It's an auto diff bud so not sure it's going to be worth that much! Would be nice if it is though
SPG
I’ve not heard of the B04B before buddy, as Mika said the B04D was the large case UK/EU diff with a cooler. B03B was the Manual J-spec TT Large Case Diff A02B was the Auto J-spec TT Small Case Diff
Supraleeturbo
Isn’t a bo4b diff from the 6 speed manual facelift

Homer
I've also never heard of the '04' coded diff before, it's not in any of the VIN frame documents I have. It might be a late spec VIN/parts change that was made so if that's the case I'd love to see a pic of the VIN plate. It might help the VIN decoder I've been updating the last 10+ years As far as I'm aware there are A/B (Small/Large case) then 01/02/03 (Ratio) then A/B (Open/Torsen) on the diff code B02B or B03B should easily get £1k, but 03's can go for much more. Homer if you know anyone with a UK Spec Auto, they should be running a B04D from memory.
Homer
Homer if you know anyone with a UK Spec Auto, they should be running a B04D from memory. Thanks Sunny, well that's what I have in the blue car as the running gear is from a UK auto. I'll have a look at Burna's VIN plate at the next meet
Lee P
UK spec Auto is indeed B04D, just checked a car here

SPG
Now this brings us back to the OP, fancy posting a pic on of your diff? It may well be a A02B
inazone
Probably a silly question but what are the benefits of a large case diff over a small one?
Lee P
Strength and cooling mainly but our rear billet diff cover sorts that for the small case diff

Homer
UK spec Auto is indeed B04D, just checked a car here Thanks Lee, that's a mod I need to make to the VIN plate calculator. The '04' and 'D' sections aren't listed in the Euro or US spec sheets so I've always been 2nd guessing the UK ones. Odd as I've thought them same/similar to Euro. That`s what I said. Indeed you did and thank you for responding to the question, some of us learned something new This also means the diff on my RSP Supra is a B04D, good to know! Homer
Also to answer Fastcar, It's worth a fair premium, I've known the sell for 1k or more in the last year just because it's a large case diff.
Mika
Homer: This B04D diff is most likely from the UK Spec A/T Supra. Same differential is in (most, I remember that some of the Austria and Switzerland A/T cars do have the B03D (3.267:1) diff) Euro Spec A/T Supra´s and also Middle East supra N/A`s. fastcar
The B04B is actually from a Lexus is300 this is why I'm asking?
