7677243
Hi, I am month an a half into a 2 month road trip and the A340E has gone grumpy, any help or pointers appreciated. The other evening I drove to dinner, parked the car and when I returned it would not engage any forward gears, reverse is fine. In the week leading up to the issue, when the car was cold, revs needed to be raised slightly to get a gear to engage (for the first time) The PO had some work done; springs and shims. It is an NA-T with an A340E, fluid level is correct (tested correctly) and not burnt. It feels like a blockage issue since we had to increase revs to get a gear to engage but I am all eyes and ears. If anyone can point me in the right direction you'd save me the most boring 2000km tow truck trip . I am in the Munich area at the moment Thanks all. Apart from the sump gasket and oil, are there any other bits I should pick up before I get onto this job? I've found a place that rents car lifts by the hour and have all the tools I should need in the boot. I have been offered the option of a 77k mile stock box+install for €1100, I must try and fix mine first or forgive myself I will not . As a backup, does anyone know of a mechanic that will work on autos within 200km of the Munich area? I am confident it is not catastrophic failure inside the box. Thanks all. Mike2JZ
Might be a bit of a stretch, but you could try making a forum post on the german forum https://www.toyota-supra.de/forum and see if you get lucky with some info there
evinX
Is the fluid clean from the dipstick? Make sure and use rtv sealant on the sump. Clean the solenoids with brake cleaner to.
