Bit more of an update on the "affordable" single turbo kits

Its been a while, i've been plugging away in the background on the 2 turbo kits i plan to offer, so i thought i'd share the fruits of my labours.

There is 2 kits being developed which i call the following, "BPU Max Kit" and a "Street Max Kit"

The idea behind the BPU Max kit is an affordable single setup that is the last stage in the BPU tuning process, running on the oem fuelling injectors and system, and the OEM ecu with using lower boost or a simple piggyback for higher (testing will give more information on this) Its going to be priced to compete with owners who need to rebuild there OEM twins because of age or moving to a hybrid twin upgrade, but giving much more midrange torque. I plan to run a garrett GTX3076r turbocharger package with a reworked internal wastegate exhaust housing. Capable of the 450-475bhp range with near instant response.

It will retain the OEM exhaust manifold with a tubular adaptor manifold mated to this to suit a single T3 exhaust flange. The prototype of this has been completed and is in thickwall mild steel, but the finished item will be in a 3.8mm wall thickness stainless steel so guaranteed never to crack. It will also come with a 3" tubular downpipe upto the beginning of the 2nd decat flange.

The Exhaust housing will be offered in either 0.63/0.82 or 1.06 options although i beleive the 0.82 is the smallest you really want to go. Its a genuine garrett exhaust housing but reworked on the CNC to massively open up the wastegate port from the oem 28mm flapper to a huge 44mm flap.

This is how far i've gotten so far with this, with updates coming in regularly :)

The other kit is what i'm calling the "Street Max Kit"

Which again is designed at road going supras, using either a GTX3582r or the larger GTX4088r turbocharger, the smaller of the 2 is well used on the supra making 600bhp and full boost by little over 3000rpm. Personally on an all weather, street supra this is about as far as you want to go. To make the most of this kit your talking about a clutch upgrade, fuelling and some means to control the fuelling.

Its going to be using a extensive ported and polished cast log manifold, CNC wastegate plate for a larger 44mm external wastegate and again a full 316l stainless downpipe to the start of the 2nd decat flange. Options for this will come in both reroute and screamer pipe options.

Nice

I run the GTX3576R turbo (which I bought from you), even on a HKS tubular manifold this is realistically as quick spooling as the car can cope with, and thats on a tiptronic with a TRD LSD. on a manual with a log manifold the GTX30 setup would be savage. Wouldn't running such a small turbo result in a lot of surge? And similarly, a small turbo with an integral wastegate would presumably exacerbate this?

This would be worth a look at re: your log manifold, nicest log manifold I've seen for these cars; http://fsrmotorsports.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=29&Itemid=87&vmcchk=1&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=87

well my street max kit is going to be using a GT35 based turbocharger with a cast log manifold after extensive cnc porting.

the idea behind this kit is from the power house amuse kit that used a HKS gt30r which looking at the specs is basically the same as the gt3076r.

the internal wastegate i assume you mean boost creep as this is the only thing that the wastegate would effect, but this is why i've done a total redesign on the wastegate ports of the housing, pictured above.

heres a video of there setup.
