tooquicktostop
I have recently moved into a new house, it has a newly built double garage and office and I want to convert it into an entertaining space - kitchen/bar, dining area, shower/toilet and store room. I have asked a couple of local builders to quote but have been uninspired by their general attitude, any recommendations, Birmingham area

ozz
I'm sure you've checked this out, but something in the back of my mind says if you have another separate area with its own self contained kitchen/toilet then you could face a second council tax. Could be wrong, I just remember when I was looking at properties with an annex it came up.
Mk4Gaz
It will most certainly require planning permission and building regs, as it's change of use. Not a particularly big job, providing drainage is close by to connect to.
