Jellybean
Hi Motorbike Have some Tygon line on the rear (connecting the remote reservoir to the master cylinder) but the engine heat is causing it to perish Will Gates Racing Fuel line suffice? Key Features and Benefits: • Cover resists heat, oil, ozone and weathering with spiral textile reinforment • Tube has been upgraded to meet changes in fuel characteristics and resists heat and oil • Working pressure up to 1 MPa (10 kg/cm²) • Temperature range from -35°C to +125°C • Meets requirements of SAE J30R7 and DIN 73379 (except for tolerances) thanks
Chris Wilson
No, probably not, there's a special hose for low / no pressure brake fluid. https://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Product.do?method=view&n=1717&g=240087&p=42879&d=124&c=4&l=2&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=Base&utm_campaign=Brake%20Master%20Cylinders%20&%20Reservoirs&gclid=Cj0KCQjwyvXPBRD-ARIsAIeQeoGIF6Io_UvU8xIwgBS27gXO6opHV91uv7w3tbHw4M-E_xQVpvbYXp4aAm4NEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
Jellybean
Thanks Chris , I actually found the OE one I had on prior Was interested in the answer all the same , most lines I could find only where AN type braided Just on a side note to get your insight , I fitted a new Oberon Clutch Slave the weekend, it has a rock hard Clutch lever after I bled it Considering these are very single little units in design and to fit , I presume it is faulty its a 2002 748s Repro steps Installed to the Bike and Bleed as per instructions, the bike has a rock hard Clutch lever (the Pre 2000 Push Rod Spacer was NOT used) Unbolted the Oberon unit from the bike , to test if the piston in the Slave would move , still rock hard Clutch lever , no slave piston movement The OEM Slave was re-installed and Bled , no issues
Chris Wilson
If the piston diameter of new and old slaves are the same a given displacement of fluid from the same MC should make the pistons travel the same distance and with the same lever effort. Jellybean
The piston on the Oberon is slightly larger to alleviate a heavy clutch lever , 29mm versus OE 28 mm piston MC is OE and is compatible with the Oberon
Chris Wilson
Should be a bit lighter on the lever, with more travel required of the lever to release the clutch then as you say.
Jellybean
Thanks Chris! Its quiet the pickle why it has a Rock hard lever , will be interesting what is causing it! booked into mechanic tomorrow , just a bit perplexed as the OE is working fine I am hoping its not my stupidity thanks again
Jellybean
Hi Chris , The piston was at the very end of the bore , I tried to move the piston but to no avail , gave it a little more pressure and it freed up with a rush of air ; it appears it was 'stuck' , may from storage and just need to be dislodged , when I try to push it now it will 'bounce' back towards the end of the bore Hopefully should be ok now
