berg Posted October 31, 2017 Share Posted October 31, 2017 Just wondering what the correct way to apply the sealant the diff cover is as I can’t access the TRSM app on IOS11 The old red stuff looks like it was spread on rather than a bead Just don’t want to end up with a leak once refitted Any ideas? evinX Posted October 31, 2017 Share Posted October 31, 2017 Id apply a bead, when 2 flat surfaces meet the bead will flatten looking like its been spread. Another risk so 'spreading' it on is being uneven and not sealing properly. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
berg Posted October 31, 2017 Author Share Posted October 31, 2017 Thanks, i thought that was the way i just happened to see the photo above from the lexus forum which made me wonder Although there isnt very much surface around the holes at all so even the smallest of beads i suspect will cause it to ooze into the diff once torqued down But thats how the manual says to do it so thats what ill do Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
