jonny mac
hi guys I have a mkiv n/a manual supra I also have an aristo twin turbo vvti 2jz gte engine with loom and ecu plans here: cut off the aristo harness ends and extend them through the bulkhead to reach the supra body connectors and run the aristo ecu my car is a basic abs model without traction control and without any advanced ecu's this thread will be all the workings I have for the conversion loom including pictures and wiring diagrams, i'll be going through every body plug on both the aristo and both the supra loom, comparing them to wire them up correctly and also hopefully having some guidance along the way from forum members that don't mind chipping in some advice here and there my car's pinout diagram here, although this is for an auto I'd assume the manual body plugs are the same just without the auto wires: http://wilbo666.pbworks.com/w/page/41678224/2JZ-GE%20JZA80%20Supra%20Engine%20Wiring and the aristo here: http://wilbo666.pbworks.com/w/page/42173082/2JZ-GTE%20VVTi%20JZS161%20Aristo%20Engine%20Wiring
jonny mac
so this is what I've drawn up for the ecu at lunchtime 20171027_130416 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr plus b3 is almost fully cut out because of all the auto crap, only 2 wires need kept from there for speed sensors what should I do about throttle pedal sensor inputs to ecu because my car is a stock non traction control model, should I get a pedal and sensor from a vvti turbo facelift supra with a sensor and wire it in? or maybe that's only for cruise control which I don't have anyway

jonny mac
so now to do this with a supra pinout and match up the starter signal etc etc i'll need to add in a relay as from memory the old ge engine doesn't need one for coils since it has a distributor and leads, that's easy enough though
jonny mac
I've been quite busy and nearly finished my loom, I still have a few queries about a few of the sensors and so on but i'll post up as I get on with it GOING FROM N/A MKIV PREFACELIFT MANUAL SUPRA TO AUTOMATIC ARISTO VVTI TWIN TURBO ENGINE the begining: aristo loom is fully concealed in the aristo engine bay the supra loom starts in the engine bay and finishes inside the cabin the idea: take my original n/a supra manual engine ecu loom and splice into it removing the running gear of the n/a and retain everything else whilst mixing in aristo ecu and engine loom the work done: so this is currently untested and I need to get the measurements but I basically lay out the supra n/a loom on the floor and cut out the following: all engine sensors/coil/n/a ecu loom basically kept the two body plugs from jza80 chassis leaving me with: orange body plug grey body plug gearbox loom alternator plug power steering plug aircon plug oil level sensor plug oil pressure plug two fuse box plugs (important) coolant temp sensor for dash take the aristo loom and open it up, the body plugs on the aristo ecu loom need to be opened up and have certain wires removed/some kept these are the ones I kept: 3 - Aristo Body Plug by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr 2 - Aristo Body Plug by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr the other plug was cut out and I also removed the diagnostic connector+auto box loom as it was all unnecessary for my build I then started at the ecu, I extended every single wire one by one through my bulkhead grommet keeping the stock n/a ecu connector there for length setting to make sure my ecu would still sit in the right location on my car as I went through the ecu I'd kept note of which wires I'd needed to cut into and had them labelled up 1 - Aristo Ecu by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr then joined them accordingly into the correct pin locations on the jza80 bodyplugs so the jza80 orange and grey plugs would act the same as the original aristo white body connectors input/outputs would have done 5 - jza80 body plug by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr 4 - jza80 body plug by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr currently I'm still looking into the sp1 wire as it has nowhere to go on my ecu as it only received sp2+ and sp2- from the autobox so the signal's would be different, also I don't know if the last plug requires the key inserted in ignition to activate something inside the ecu, currently I used the trigger wire for the original coil on the n/a to power up the injectors and coil packs for the vvti tt engine Edited December 9, 2017 by jonny mac (see edit history)
jonny mac
124 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr loom work being done left hand side is aristo engine loom, top right is original n/a supra connectors for alternator+pas+fuse box bottom left is aristo ecu connectors extended through bulkhead harness and bottom right is two jza80 main body connectors which give inputs/outputs to ecu

silvergsx623
Hey Jonny Mac, I'm in the process of doing an Aristo vvti swap into my rhd MK4 and was following along your post here. Was just curious if you had any updates or changes you made to your harness that were different from all of the diagrams you market up? Thank you for sharing these! WayneW
Very interesting !! good work - - - Updated - - - was it not possible to get a VVTi supra loom ?? or was that just no fun ??? Kearney
I did my 2jzgte vvti aristo swap slightly differently. Because they are voltage sensitive, i decided to get an aristo ecu box and mount the ecu in the engine bay and i cut the plugs off the n/a supra loom and extended them into the engine bay as there was maybe 9 or 10 wires needed. I did the same thing with the plugs under the fusebox and the car runs like a dream and the ecu box sits nicely in the bay and looks oem. Chris not made any changes as I sold the car, however the rpm gauge didn't work for me no matter what I did, tried a gte cluster and also adding resistor but the output from igniter on aristo engine loom isn't the correct signal I'm doing another aristo engine into a mk4 now for my new tt shell project but I'm actually going to just go stand alone ecu masters black edition this time and cut/join the loom into ecu master plugs as it's so much easier the aristo ecu is very limited and has no tuning capabilities and things like fuel cut are really annoying
silvergsx623
I have a question about starter signal if anyone is able to help. I currently have STA pin on ECU connector F59 connected to pin #7 on JZA80 body 90980-11469 I'm not sure what to do with JZA80 body pin #3 on 90980-10897 and Pins 4 & 5 on Aristo body 90980-11710 https://photos.app.goo.gl/wUySveaACbEBpisB9 any help is greatly appreciated
