Hats off to you, you have clearly been busy. That 3D printing looks to be a nice & strong too. Is that two sets of flappy paddles I spy or camera trickery?

They are paddle extensions you can fit to the standard Aygo steering wheel paddles :)

Your going to have to be inventive if bringing this to the market. You need to protect your investment of time and money. This is exactly the sort of idea no-marks will want to copy.

The aftermarket scene for original ideas is a very small pond.

Thanks mate, it's all covered ;)

Still interested in this, would love to see you driving it. Just want to gauge change speed etc, im assuming its as fast as moving the stick?

The electronic shifter is far quicker at changing gear than the Supra autobox, it changes gear selections in 0.4 seconds, so the only delay is from the 25 year old tech in the stock box. So yes it's as fast as moving the stick :) It's shifts exactly as stock, just with paddles :)

Although fitting of the shifter kit is very easy, there will be a fitting option available, so a drive in drive out fully fitted and working.

I also currently offer a steering wheel upgrade option, whether it be a newer Toyota steering wheel from an Aygo like mine, paddles or not, or any Toyota or Lexus steering wheel you like and have purchased. I will convert the wiring over so that it is plug'n'play with the Supra steering wheel clock spring, and also convert the newer cruise control stalk to work with the Supra.

Just get in touch if interested :)

Hi Burna,

Are you still doing these, if so I'm interested! Out of curiosity is this an actuator linked to the original shift lever controlled by an ecu?

I don't have the trac butterfly valve or sensors any more (so no Manu mode), any idea if this would this cause an issue or could it be worked around in the software?

Regards,

Alex

Hi Alex, I'm afraid I don't produce it anymore. The ZF box conversion is a much better route now, and what I did to my Supra 🙂

No problem,

I've wanted to go the ZF8 route since 2018 before it was even done as it was such a good box in my 640d, unfortunately I can't justify the cost of doing the swap with how expensive adapter plates, gearbox ecu's etc are.

I think the cost is easily justifiable mate. Supra’s are now £30k - £60k cars now, so adding an £8k ZF conversion isn’t a lot of money in the scheme of things. You also only need to add a CANTCU to control the gearbox, and not a link or syvecs, you use the stock ecu for everything else.

I understand mate. But unlike most people who buy supra's these days and have the cash to take their cars to a garage and get them to do everything I don't have £8k to spare!

I've spent around 50k so far over 8 years of ownership (including buying it for 10k) and have done pretty much everything myself (bar putting the bottom end of my engine together).

8k on a gearbox is better spent on other more important things imo. My car is heavily modified, so I've already built my engine and gearbox to handle a lot more power.

I could justify 1.5k but 8k not so much.
