Mac Srt
Been looking at a few built auto boxes (Titan & boost) for my single conversion. Just got a couple of questions... Do the boxes have to be "specific" to work with a tiptronic, or will a normal built autobox work as long as the car is a tiptronic and has the correct ECU ? Does a built box need additional coolers like the oem boxes do ? The car will be running syvecs. Cheers.
Frank Bullitt
If you go standalone (MoTeC M150 or Syvecs S6Plus) it won't matter what box you go for. If you stick with the OEM ECU running the box you currently have you will have to send yours away or order parts in to be fitted to it. Cooler are a must if you want to keep your box healthy and alive. AC93
Lee at SRD does built boxes too, when I enquired he told me their stage 2 can take upto 750bhp. Would probably need 2 coolers for that power level.

Not sure about Whiffbitz cooler

Chris Bailey
Speaking from experience don't go with a Boostlogic, they aren't what they are cracked up to be. Lee at SRD had his gearbox specialist strip down our Boostlogic box when it lost gears on a hub dyno and all that's really "modified" internally is the up the line pressure so it changes gear quicker. We now have a SRD stage 3 built auto with Syvecs flappy paddles and it's great! Would highly recommend. Failing that MK4Gaz has a Titan built auto for sale that would be a good addition over the stock auto.
and1c
Doesn't have to be SRD coolers. They are a common design. I've got 3 trans fluid coolers on my setup and a Motec thermostat to ensure the box reaches operating temperature. I have no experience with the SRD box (yet) but the Titan one is excellent in my experience.
