Reminds me of an occasion while working in Rotterdam. A foreman came over and said something to me. I polite gestured that my Dutch was non-existent. He repeated what he said, I repeated my gesture. Turns out he was from London. Or at least that's what I think he said. You guys really can make a meal of the language!
