Al Massey
That is great news, I knew he would He misses JAE deep down. Now all to sort out is Saturday only camping tickets from JAE, and we could be on to a very large attendance at JAE! And I don't think that £40 a person for JAE is too much, then just £20 for Saturday night attendees I am sure Branners will come and visit next year
Al Massey
Ok so some of the feedback and requests so far are. Earlier breakfasts/Easier breakfasts/More breakfast options We did have the toaster and cereal out. We also have a microwave, so I will make sure we have a few things like bread, eggs and cereal available for the early risers to have a snack before breakfast. We will arrange an agreed time for breakfast that will cater for all, so a nice medium for everybody. More soft drinks which include coke, diet coke, squash/dilute/cordial etc. This was my fault and I will make sure we have plenty of choice for next year. Ice cubes Cracking idea, probably would have been great this year with the heat, will look into it and make sure we have something in place. Stricter rotas for chefs and helpers/Sort out helpers for washing up This is something I will look into and will try and sort something out. At the end of the day, if we don't have volunteers to cook we wont eat, and if we don't have volunteers to help clean up, then we cant cook so hopefully we will get more volunteers next year. More wine, red and white. Great shout, my fault for not thinking it through too much. I have a plan for next year in regards to drinks and finding out who prefers what so we don't over spend on one type and underspend on another. Go shopping earlier. Again this was my fault, was a hot day and I had been there since 9, but next year there will not be an excuse. More tables, 1 for kitchen and 1 for the marquee. This is something I will look into and see what we have as a club and what could be borrowed or rented. Scrap lunch all together, have more snacks? This was something I kind of tried this year but had loads of bread and sandwich fillers but they never came out and I am sorry about that. Next year I will make sure we have plenty of light snacks available and microwavable food items. Same pitch/plot We are not on grandfather rights apparently so I will make sure that I am on the ball when it is announced and book our plots straight away. I may book 2 more plots than before in anticipation of all the extra members coming next year Raise club ticket prices This was something I was against, hence why I lowered the price last year. unfortunealty, as we found this year, it is more expensive in the new location and I went over the budget and had to sort that myself. So club ticket prices will most likely have to raise. I would like your input on that as I don't want to raise it by much, so I am thinking of either £40 or £45. This will then insure that we have enough of everything on the weekend and that all our needs are catered for. Hope I have managed to cover everything so far. Again, if you have any questions or concerns post up and we will see what we can do. RobUK
All I've heard is praise for a great event so it sounds like same again with some refinements! Good job those involved it's not easy organising these things [emoji1303]
Burna
The fridge next year needs to be full of beer and wine, instead of going back and forth to the walk in fridge, and having to chase the key holder up. Everything else sounds spot on Al, I actually thought you'd scrapped lunch this year tbh, so we just sorted ourselves out for food on Friday Ticket price for next year, I think £45 is too much, £40 is an increase, but I see where you are coming from. I do think if planned in advance we can make some savings next year compared to this year, as I know there were a lot of things left over on Sunday in the walk in fridge. After all the hard standing stuff is paid for, it's only the drink and food to pay for, and that's easy to budget for. The stand ticket price will be dependent on whether we can convince JAE to offer Saturday night camping tickets. If they don't agree to it, then we will have to base the attendance numbers on this year (40 people) as I don't think it will increase, then work out the ticket price from that, if it's too much attendance will drop further, which will finish JAE for us, so lets be careful and go through the numbers and see where we can save, I'll be more than glad to help with that side if you will let me Al. But, if JAE do agree to Saturday night camping, then that's a whole different ball game, and I can see our budget improving massively, then ticket prices can be looked at again. Fridge was a bit hard as it had no shelves :/ I've got a year to look at cheaper/other marquees. The power will be something that either JAE sorts properly or we get for free as I'll just open the box again. Walk in fridge will be something that I need to hunt for. Lunch wasn't scrapped lol but I think we will just stick to loads of different snacks. I think £40 would be a good price for club tickets. Burna
Fridge was a bit hard as it had no shelves :/ Yeah, that was a bit of a problem lol I've got a year to look at cheaper/other marquees The style of the marquee was perfect though The power will be something that either JAE sorts properly or we get for free as I'll just open the box again. I hope they do sort that out, it was extortionate. Walk in fridge will be something that I need to hunt for. Do we need to buy one for just one event each year? Far better to rent that I'd have thought. Lunch wasn't scrapped lol but I think we will just stick to loads of different snacks. I didn't mind, I like grabbing lunch from the food court and grabbing a beer. I think £40 would be a good price for club tickets. If we are going to take the stand further then I think your right mate. Thoughts above.
Al Massey
The style of marque was great, and I plan to keep with that company if I can't find a similar style cheaper elsewhere. Fingers crossed power is addressed, I have emailed John about our problems with it. Sorry not buy rent, but the guy we've used for the past 3 years is now too far away. Only supplied us as a favour and a crate of beer. So I need to find a local one. Hopefully find a good price, but the cost wasn't budgeted for this year. That could be an option then as I think many people enjoyed eating out. Ok I'll set next years price at £40. I do plan on starting planning very early so hopefully will give many people plenty of notice.
inazone
I would like to thank Alan, Darren, Malc, Rosie, Richard, Branners and everyone who helped out over the weekend and all the IKO Entrants, and of course the rest of the Supra family for an awesome weekend. I can't believe it went so quick. Especially as we did so well. Anyway for my feedback.... I will start with the kitchen. I think we need a decent gas burner, I've sent Alan a link for a decent burner which will be ideal for large cooking pots. We desperately need some basic kitchen tools like several spatulas, large spoons and ladells. The new gas burners worked well for general frying. I think an additional table would be useful for preparing food on. I agree that we need to keep the evening meals as simple as possible. If we had a decent burner cooking pasta would be easy. My dad does a great meal with tinned meat balls and butter beans, which is very tasty and quick and easy to make. We could do something like this for an evening meal. I would be happy to do this. With regards to the drinks, we definitely needed more soft drinks, I'm not a particularly big drinker and would welcome a Pepsi Max or similar, or cordial. When it comes to the food, cheap is not necessarily better. I would rather pay a fiver more and have better bacon that's easy to cook than the multipack water filled variety. I think we can scrap lunches as I'm sure people will still be full from breakfast.... Oh breakfast should be served for 11...[emoji6]. If you're hungry have some cereal! It would be nice to have some washer uppers and people to help clear away after the cooking, as it takes a considerable effort for the cooks to feed 40 or so people and to have to tidy up afterwards is not fair. So let's get a rota up for next year. The setup of the marquee, tents and car's was spot on. Loved the games that were bought, hopefully we can expand on this for next year. I hope the above is useful. As usual I'm always happy to help where I can. Looking forward to the next JAE already! Many thanks Alex
