Chris Wilson
As good the good old EU and `elf `n' safety has banned rat bait that has any hope of doing anything other than giving the things a bit of a head ache I thought I would take a different approach and make a mat of insulated wires they need to walk on to to get at some corn. I think this might be effective....
AlexJames
I could do with something like that to keep my wife out of the garage.
Chris Wilson
I could do with something like that to keep my wife out of the garage. Ahh! A wife-zapper you say? I have just the thing, 6.6kV at over 1 amp. More when rectified. Expect to be putting whatever bits of her touches its wires in a bin bag though, that's assuming she doesn't fall over it or tries to lift and move it and injure herself that way first It was in the back of my Volvo for a month until I could find someone daft enough to help me carry it upstairs. I think you could possibly put these around the channel tunnel to stop illegal entry as the current boarder control are not working.

What does the mat mesh look like and how do you stop it tripping the entire house circuit? /QUOTE] Veroboard with some tracks milled off to stop arcing. Won't trip anything as it's volts rather than Amps. Idea is to set the bait, watch from the window, when six or so are on it press the destruct button, take shovel, clear mat, wait for the next lot I'll be sure to unplug and remove button so the wife doesn't see temptation when I am shovelling though.... What about financial costs? I have a small family settling into my winter wood pile at the moment and I could do with a quick and easy eviction plan. Chris Wilson
Cold winter ahead Frank. Napalm will reduce the woodpile to one hour of blissful heat.
