blythmrk
My 4 wheel alignment guy is asking for the settings (his machine may not have the info!) for tracking/castor camber settings as I have fitted a refurbished rear sub frame.
Scooter
Not seen the topic for a while but "Lance settings" were popular a bit back in the day http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?337643-Alignment-Specs&highlight=lance+settings

Burna
Great thank you they charge enough though for 4 wheel alignment I though it was £40ish they are stating more £100 or more! That is way overpriced! I suggest you go elsewhere to someone who knows what they are doing, as these settings should be in the machine already. What make machine is it? Sheefa
I just had my 4wheel awd BMW alignment done by AGS in Birmingham for £30. Yours is a ripoff.

Dnk
I used one of these places on two cars and they were very good, they used to do a free check and only charged if they adjusted anything https://www.f1autocentres.co.uk/find-a-centre

Basically they didn't know they could adjust the rear wheels so it has put me off as surely a simple visual check would have shown them they could ? I guess each centre will vary as to how good they are but strange they didn't spot the toe and camber adjusters on the rear, not very inspiring for sure. The place near me were very good and even let me in the workshop and go under the car once they got it up the air
blythmrk
It seems a very grey area. The specialist near me is currently having a new ramp installed so they told me a couple of weeks but recommended another garage who quoted me around £120:Pling: and wanted me to tell them the oem settings (surely they should be finding out themselves) I do wonder what type of training is given to staff who operate this equipment is it just a quick day course and you are qualified? I have cancelled my appointment today due to my windscreen and was doing both MOT and 4 wheel alignment in the same trip.
Dnk
Sadly some places are utterly useless and shouldn't be allowed to work on cars full stop I took my Landcruiser to a recommended place a couple of years ago after having new lower arms fitted and the guy there totally fucked it up and said it had been in a shunt hence he couldn't get it set correctly I took it to the local F1 autocentre and 30 mins later all sorted
bignum
If you want abit more front end grip try and aim for -2degree front camber. it will make the rear slightly more lively so be careful.
rider
I have arranged that a mobile tyre fitting and alignment outfit will come to me once I swap out the rear sub frame on my car. Priced at £49 + VAT for 4 wheel alignment. Theoretically that means the car won't be driven around with who know what asymmetry on the alignment. griffsplace
I was getting mine done by Laws tyres up here in Aberdeen, the 4 wheel set up was going to cost £98. They found the nearside lower front ball joint link was goosed so could not complete it and so they did not charge me. Was a bit worried as it just came from and MOT, where it passed. I have now replaced the arm and the geometry is well out but since I am going to do the wheel bearings I am putting off getting it set back up and it costing me again.
