Day881
Hi all just wondering anyone on here done a r154 swap and would know if this is worth it for the price? The box is from a mk3 supra but been fitted in a is300 Comes with everything listed below but I'm assuming the prop will be no good as been fitted in is300, manual surround no good and the mount and the extended shifter no good for fitting in supra? Also being the mk3 box its speedo mechanical and supra needs electrical is this a pain and costly? But i take it everything else would be fine just dont know if it's worth going for as going to need to source more parts and i dont know how hard it is to get them and how much Just want to know if worth going for or wait for a r154 which has been in a supra so more a straight swap but this does seem good price depending how much the extra will cost to source
Japlover
I got a R154 on my V8 - nice gearbox, feels strong..... however I've only ever used the 6 speed (on my previous n/a) and this one so can't compare it to the W58 (or whatever it's called). For the 6sp to be about the £3k mark, I'd say this would be good value. Think the R154 is rated up to 600bhp
Sheefa
Littlenum runs his R154 at over 700bhp and it's an awesome gearbox. Given V160/V161 boxes are going for £5k plus this is a steal even if it needs a little more modification to fit.

Think the R154 is rated up to 600bhp Assuming you mean the V160/1 6 speed, you couldn't pick one up today for 3K unless you bought it from someone who didn't know what they were selling or who didn't know the current secondhand market value. I am clearly 5+ years out from todays prices of general Supra things - my bad!!
Hitbox Junkie
it is good value considering the costs of the 6speeds. there are other manual boxes with conversion kits to consider. bmw or the 350z boxes
Richie_k83
I think its worth it if you are doing a similar conversion to what he has. Overal, i think the prices of these R154 / Getrag boxes are going through the roof. Will need a mortgage to buy a 20+ year old box the way its going.
