gavin.starr
I basicly asked for the information regarding my mines ecu I have. This is the response I received. Gavin, Hello and thank you for the inquiry. Basically we do not provide those services. If you would like, we would consider doing so for a fee. We believe 10,000JPY would be appropriate. If you are still interested, do let us know and we will provide our banking information so you can make the payment. Do be advised that MINE'S only accepts bank transfers as method of payment and transfer fees are to be paid by the customer. Mike2JZ
Should be worth the money, if your MINES ECU has been calibrated for different modifications it could have a detrimental affect on your car? (probably not, but better to know for sure). That £70 will help if you ever resell the ECU. I was always put off the idea of buying one off someone with no idea whats been done to the ECU, but at least now you could say for sure. gavin.starr
But on the other hand it's like me walking to the fridge to say yea we have some bacon eggs and some sausages. All they are doing is looking something up on the system which I can't imagine taking more than 5 mins to do. I understand it would help with a sale but surely not at £70 which is the current exchange rate.

Well in fairness, it's more like walking into a japanese fridge from the 90's that was built with bespoke tools that some japanese dude probably hasn't looked at for the last 15 years, and the eggs and sausages were genetically modified with some old technology that no one bothers with anymore. You might be right and it takes 5 minutes, but if it takes them an hour to go through all their previous data to see whats going on, then they are probably just charging you an hours worth of labour. Who knows
Al Massey
Wow that's strange. A few years ago, I got an email back in 3 days with all the information I needed

People have been up until recently saying that they have had emails back in a few days for free. So why all of a sudden the 70 quid price tag. Tyson
Maybe they are getting too many emails and requests And like any company someone will have seen another way to make some money. Or it might just be the person not wanting to do it and fobbing you off hoping you won't bother with the price. Maybe try emailing again and see if you get a different response ? Supragal
Maybe they can't afford to support legacy kit for free.

Kendo11
Was it just the generic email you sent that to? I've got two Mines ECU units, one needs repairing and the other is ok but I've no idea what they're mapped to.

The email might go to someone else who is a little more helpful hopefully, that's the address I got my response back from. I've tried that one around 3 to 4 times over the last year and never got a response from it unfortunately. That's why I went with the contact us bit on the website instead.
