Delboy52
Anyone tried these? Are they any good? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UNIVERSAL-REPLICA-TOYOTA-SUPRA-STYLE-BONNET-VENT-SCOOP-/171251227024?hash=item27df5e5990:g:A14AAOxyg7xSW9lb
rider
Looks like its missing the mesh which isn't just mesh but circle holes on the original. That'd be a hard part to replicate and stick on securely to withstand 150mph winds.
The Raven
Be interesting to see how this looks

Pm me your whatsapp or email and I will send you a couple of pics. I'm on my phone so can't attach them. You could look at some pics I put on supra chat a couple of months ago when it came out the spray shop.
Delboy52
Ah yes I saw your respray thread a while ago. Think I'll give it a try, see how it looks and if it can do the job I have in mind for it. Cheers
Delboy52
Does it use a gasket between the contacting surfaces?
bignum
I bought 1, piece of crap, there arent any mounting holes at all and looked like it was made by a 5 year old.
Delboy52
Oh dear! I just ordered one.. They're not so expensive so will see how it is when it turns up. It'll be a retro fit to a jspec bonnet so I don't have bonnet holes to begin with.
The Raven
So how do you attach it?
Dnk
So how do you attach it? I'd guess you'd bond it to the bonnet with something like tiger seal

To put a proper scoop in you also need all the gubbins inside, mines just purely for the look. Also it can be removed if you don't like it without filling holes / repairing the bonnet etc.
rider
Bonding isn't an issue if you use the right glue. A previous owner fitted a scoop to my jspec bonnet and its still there at least 19 years later having been subjected to winds of 158mph on several occasions running along the German Autobahn. Its probably very much down to selecting the right adhesive. I thought you could still buy a UK scoop, its was at one time only the under bonnet fixtures that were no longer available? Delboy52
Amayama.com don't have availability of the scoop bulge hood or some of the fixings. Haven't tried MrT directly but Keron says he can still get new scoop hoods.
