Finally.... .....But!!

Right, I have finally found my perfect soop. A 97 J Spec in metallic grey.

Only thing is that is it pretty much standard apart from alloys and an exhaust, of which I am unsure of what make it is. I am going to order the obvious induction kit and cat replacement pipe, but what sort of electronic goodies should I go for inside the cockpit??

I'm gonna get a Blitz DTT DC turbo timer, but what else do people think would be good to have in the cockpit for a car that is pretty much standard??

I was thinking of an Apexi AVC-R EBC, and also an Apexi S-AFC-2 air flow controller.

Can anyone see anything that I may have troubles with by installing these, or whether I am missing something else that is far more beneficial on a car such as this??

Ben..

AFC = Fuel controller not a flow one.

If you are getting a full decat. No need for the boost controller for now.

You need an AFC if you are changing the fueling. They can only trim DOWN the amount of fuel that's put in, especially on J-spec injectors. Again no need to get it right now. Better off with an uprated fuel regulator and a bigger pump.

Gauges as mentioned is the way to go....

EGT, Boost, A/F ratio.

The best idea is to take it to Leon or Chris Wilson to fit the stuff.

The EGT probe has to mounted in the exhaust manifold as close to the cylinders as is possible.

The boost gauge is T'd into a manifold side on one of the VAC hoses.

The A/F reading will be taken off a probe mounted in a decat pipe.

Nice, same as mine! I would say the induction kit isn't necessarily an obvious mod on a Supe though. Have a search on here, there's been a fair bit of discussion about the pros and cons of these (warm air from under the bonnet rather than cold air from outside, poor filtration etc). Opinion seems to be split about 'em.

The Blitz DTT DC turbo timer you are going to fit has an electronic boost gauge. Unless of course you prefer a dial boost gauge?

My Blitz DTT fits under the Rev counter nicely, so I can watch my Revs and boost at the same time ;)
