Ian C
Unfortunately, due to it being a Toyota, I've never had to replace a single bulb in 4.3 years of ownership so I've no idea -Ian
Keith C
Good point - front headlight bulbs.
Pete
Same as non facelift I think? I swapped mine over from the '94 SZ to my VVTi '97 as they were xenon ones. Straight swap.
Jake
I've just pulled my ones (98 RZS) to find out. It's got 9005 in the high beam and a different type (bigger lugs) in the dipped. Sadly the dipped bulbs don't have a code number on them. I guess they're either 9006 or 9006J Not much help, sorry
Keith C
Ok, cheers Jake Anyone else able to help?
Nic
...in facelift lights? Got some free ones for signing up to Evo, and being the kind, caring husband I am I'm donating them to Faye, so just need to know what bulbs she needs. Ta Keith as said already, they are the same as the J-spec pre-facelift, see details on my post HERE
Keith C
Ok, lets give that a go
Keith C
Apparently it needs to be an H number, eg H1 or something.
supRo
This is for UK lights but gives the H codes..hope it helps http://www.consumabulbs.com/files/nproduct.php?PHPSESSID=72b66e62ad749975239bd41edf69e439&mk=66&md=879&brn12=&brn24=&x=14&y=
ivan
That's HB3 and HB4 then.
Nic
That's HB3 and HB4 then. Keith, HB3=9005 & HB4=9006 they are the same just different bulb codes, I think one is a US description.
ivan
Doesn't one have larger lugs than the other Nic? I thought the 9006 needed trimming slightly to fit in place of 9005's?
RedM
H3 and H4 are interchangable. Got some from work and fitting them took seconds.
Nic
Doesn't one have larger lugs than the other Nic? I thought the 9006 needed trimming slightly to fit in place of 9005's? No it's the 9006 that is the problem, if you look at the pics on the link HERE you'll see that the 9006 is the only bulb with a 22mm body diamter, so it will not fit in either the hole for the 9006J or 9005J in the headlights. The 9005 has a 20mm body, so will fit in both holes, but will need slight 'tweaking' to get the connector to fit.
Steve W
H3 is the thin FOG light bulb. H4 is the older Twin-Filament bulb (Escort/Sierra etc etc) HB3 is the 9005 HB4 is the 9006 (or is it the other way round ) I've just bought some more 'Blue/white' bulbs and am gonna try 'em tonight/tomorrow and will report back on results (possibly wiv some 'anorak's piccies ) Bought ALL 9005's, 2 x Philips, 2 x 'cheap' brand. and, 2 x Fogs. and have 2 x 100w/Whites in the Highs at moment.
