Boot brake light to fog light conversion

Hi, I need to get rid of the nasty fog light dangling from my bumper. I did hope to just do a cheeky red light bulb into one of the reversing lights. The red bulbs I bought from fleabay are showing up with only slightest red tinge in reality, not red enough for a fog in my opinion.

 

I might well go down the tried and tested conversion mentioned elsewhere on here, but was wondering if it would be ok to run the 3rd brake light on the boot lid as a fog light.

 

Any suggestions?

My last supra had the rear fog light in the 3rd break light, worked perfect for tailgaters [emoji23] they got to close and you just flicked the switch!
