Noz Posted July 31, 2017 Share Posted July 31, 2017 So, just curious really as seen some people selling their windscreen and wondered why buyers wouldn't just go through insurance. I'm in for respray, windscreen got damaged before it went in so now I have no screen at all. Do insurance still replace if the cars in total bits etc? mike33 Posted July 31, 2017 Share Posted July 31, 2017 When I did my respray I didn't have the car insured as it just turned up from Japan and was doing a lot of work I can tell you that a new front windscreen was £680! Dnk Posted August 1, 2017 Share Posted August 1, 2017 Usually find your local one man windscreen fitter will supply and fit way cheaper than anyone else, or go through your insurance I did on my RRC but that turned into a long drawn out drama due to the dickheads my insurance company used who hadn't got a clue, i ended up with a cheque from my insurance to cover doing the job again but with a company of my choosing Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Big Mark Posted August 1, 2017 Share Posted August 1, 2017 I'm going for OEM for the following reasons: 1) Local Toyota dealer price was only £265, so cheaper option. 2) No need to add wires, button and relay that you would need for a heated screen. 3) If it's cold enough out to need a heated screen then I'd not be using the Supra anyway.
