Axl
I bet he needed his pants surgically removed after that
kitch79
Haha, Is that the roof in a tree at 1:36?
Alex_GT
How fast would you need to be going to cause that amount of damage? Unfortunately the video seems to be glorifying the incident. It looks like something that would happen in BeamNG when you hit a tree.
Konrad
Is he breaking it for parts? Holy moly ! After that he saves a lot of time and money on breaking, all is ready for sale including engine
The Raven
WTF did he hit to make that do that?
Frank Bullitt
I'm guessing back end stepped out at high speed, side impact on the nearside/passenger side against one of the many metal pillars or trees you see in the video and being a soft top it tore the car in half. el_bandido
Considering the 2015 Mustang has a Euro NCAP rating of 2/5, I'm impressed that the driver walked away.
Pete
Considering the 2015 Mustang has a Euro NCAP rating of 2/5, I'm impressed that the driver walked away. I really should pay more attention to such things. Quickly checked the MX5 to find it has 4/5, phew! For a modern car 2 is pretty bad. el_bandido
I'd still have one. Spent two weeks driving one about in America recently and it was great fun.
Pete
Spent two weeks driving one about in America recently and it was great fun. Have you driven a few convertibles for fair comparison, or was it just the topless experience in general? I've only driven the Tiger, Lotus Elise (Track), Caterham (Track), MGF, Peugeot 206cc, Jeep, MX5 - they're all great fun. The 206cc was on Rhodes so not exactly driven hard to show its weaknesses on those Greek roads. Something about the wind whistling over your scalp is just lovely. We had the hard top; I'm not a fan of convertibles. I was more on about the Mustang as a model rather than specifically the convertible. el_bandido
It handles A LOT better than the previous iteration. With a few tweaks it could be a serious weapon. Credit where it's due for Ford, the new Mustang is actually a serious contender for more than just driving in a straight line.

Big Mark
Hard to believe its torn apart to the extent it has Not really considering how rubbish their Euro NCAP score is. https://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-americancars/ford-mustang-made-a-bit-safer/36459
Dnk
Here is the actual crash test videos and the cars don't disintegrate like the one posted https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mXiuIvwrGE
Big Mark
But crash test video is all in a controlled environment, all coupes, never leaves the ground, doesn't roll over or barrel roll, straight level impacts, only colliding with one object. I'd guess none of those applied to the destroyed mustang crash.
Dnk
Found the news report on the crash http://www.kiro7.com/news/local/speeding-driver-survives-explosive-car-crash-into-biking-trail/448778668
Pete
That video reminds me just how scruffy and uncared for many of the streets are in America.
el_bandido
Was that satire? I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the roads in the states, even ones in the middle of nowhere. Was awful coming back to the UK, even chunks of the M25 looked like they had suffered a meteor strike.
