michael
Is it an air 'box' or a shield for an induction kit? Hard to tell from the pics posted so far but I'm guessing it's a shield because there is blingy pipe leading to it?
uk-rich
its a shield for a induction kit, as you can see it has the scoop that sits over the radiator to suck in cold air, also allows the filter to get air from the headlight area
michael
So it's not an airbox then Looks lovely but I'm a big fan of proper airbox setups, I'm amazed nobody has bought it at that price though, now that it's clear it'a a shield I'm sure one of the blingy single chaps will bite your carbon fibre hand off

uk-rich
it sits in the same place as the standard toyota duct, sitting over the top of the rad, and takes in the air which enters throgh the centre inlet in the bumper
uk-rich
induction cover, not airbox !
TRD3000GT
Just to clarify.. This obtains air from in front of the radiator in the area it is forced up when there is air pressure from driving.. This is HANDS DOWN one of the best air setups for people NOT using a front mount intercooler but using an aftermarket air filter / induction kit.. Very nice price for a very nice bit of kit! It also helps keep heat away from the filter and channels COLD air
supra dan
Just to clarify.. This is HANDS DOWN one of the best air setups for people NOT using a front mount intercooler but using an aftermarket air filter / induction kit. is it no good if you do have a FMIC then? TRD3000GT
is it no good if you do have a FMIC then? Not as efficient but its still good.. The FMIC will make the air warmer and the pressure will drop significantly. Lots of us running FMIC's install the aluminium or carbon plates between the front bumper and the radiator to keep the air flow up so that the rad gets the air forced through it as well. With the aluminium or carbon plates this TDI carbon air box will not work as it is designed to gather the air from in front of the radiator right where we fit the plate..
