Dave
so if your having problems i suggest inspecting your ECU ,someone also suggested having all the capicitor replaced as most of these are 20 years plus now.
scott.wild
I had a similar issue a while ago, change out the capacitors and get a circuit board cleaner/spray and gently clean up the area. Hopefully all the tracks will still be connected, if not you can repair the broken tracks with wire.

Maybe but it is very important that the right caps are used since 90% is chinese fakes out there.

You can bridge the connections with thin wire if the board gets damaged.

and1c
You can bridge the connections with thin wire if the board gets damaged. Its got sub level traces as well though so if they get damaged the board is scrap.

Frank Bullitt
Good to hear, just make sure they replace the caps with like for like or better.
Pete
It's a big problem in the retro gaming scene. Old caps leaking and destroying boards, lots of guys are getting their kit 'recapped'. At least on these ECU boards it's nice chunky components, I'd happily tackle something like that myself. (Runs off to make a note to remove the ECU soon)
