ECU capacitor leaking[ FIXED] UPDATE

So been having a few problems with overdrive gear and revs up and down ,pulled my ECU to check the board and found I had a leaking capicitor ,can I get this repaired or is the ECU no good now ?

can you share which place did it?

 

Hi ric it was a local guy to me and he was pretty thorough ,I live in LLANELLI South Wales can give you his number if you want it mate .

He repairs tv and computers as his business from his home .

I was speaking to my dad the other day about this, an electronic engineer. He seems confident he can repair mine if i ever need it

 

As long as you catch it in time ,otherwise it will burn through the pcb.

You can bridge the connections with thin wire if the board gets damaged.

Any chance of the guys number? I've got a couple that need replacing in my spare Ecu, want a working spare just incase really!

It's a big problem in the retro gaming scene. Old caps leaking and destroying boards, lots of guys are getting their kit 'recapped'. At least on these ECU boards it's nice chunky components, I'd happily tackle something like that myself.

(Runs off to make a note to remove the ECU soon)
