garetheves
Only just noticed that the right hand warning panel (the one with the oil warning lights) doesnt light up when i start the car which im sure it's supposed to. Took the dash off to check the bulbs etc and they look to be ok as does the connection to them. Im thinking its probably the fuse has gone so could anyone tell me which is the right fuse to check. Alternatively, anyone have any other ideas what could be wrong. Cheers
monkey76364
Snap same problem here !!!
supra dan
a few people have had this, i beleive its down to a dry solder joint on the connector. resoldering usually cures the problem
kosmic
me too!! found its how the connector block sits into the disply unit. usually if you twiddle it around it lights up, just badly designed IMHO!! I wedged a piece of paper just before putting the connector in and found it kinda works. Obviously first thing to check is the fuses but if theyre ok it most probably be a loose connector/connection at the back of it!!
monkey76364
well thats a job for the weekend...dash out again lol !!!

toyotasuprauk
Give the wires a fiddle or even just a gentle tap and it usually starts working.
VIL
Edd 4 x screws in the `eye brow` piece above the dash. The whole section comes out and you will find the block connectors attached to the units. 2 minute job!
Dragon
i got the same problem, i'll give that ago in the weekend.
Steve W
You need a VERY FINE soldering iron ! ! ~ 8 tiny dry-jointed bits on the little circuit board, all very close together ! My old TT had same problem. My new N/A had same problem (~3 weeks ago ! - took ~1/2Hr to do including dash off / solder / dash on) The problem is the block on the right side is ALWAYS under a slight pressure on that top corner of the dash = DESIGN FAULT. FatS (ps. i'm CRAP at electrics and even I managed it ! ! ! )
stt
You can get a soldering iron with a hyper small tip on it from Maplins for a few quid
garetheves
nice one guys. Must be a design flaw if so many people have the same problem. I have already given the connections a little "fiddle" but to no avail, i will try again and check fuses before trying resodlering. Anyone know which fuse it is?? Aerotop Dave
Yep, had my dash panels out for months and this panel would light up my triangle warning light if I moved it about. Well dodgy connectors.
Steve W
GAZ... don't bother mate ! IF it's all the right ones and they're all intermittent/non-existent then it WON'T be a fuse :thumbdown BUT, do it sooner rather than later ! ! ! ! ! It's the Oil LEVEL / Oil PRESSURE and Engine Management ! ! ! Probably the THREE most important bits on yer DASH (EVEN more important than Carbon Fibre or MP3 players . . HONEST ! ) FatS. SupraStar 3000
stupid question: How do you know if the lights are working. Do all the icons light up when you put your keys in the ignition. Havn't noticed it before.
Steve W
Hi ya Matey If you turn the key just to on ... not start it up.... yeah.... then all three lights should come on... ok Carole

Digsy
Had my dash apart again tonight. First time I put it nack together none of the RH lights came on. Unpugged the plug and re-connected it and they all came back.
Rob
So do you just melt the existing and add a bit of new solder into each connection?
Steve W
I put a little more on each (there's only just enough and i reckoned if i just used what was on there it might go quickly again ??) BUT, they ARE very close to each other, so have to be as bit restrained ! Also tried not to put TOO much heat into the circuit board ?!?!? just in case. . . . . . . . . SupraStar 3000
think I'm ok cheers mate. Don't have the fancy stuff like ABS, or TCS in my J-spec NA. I shone a lamp into the display and could see two orange icons. Do these also come on? The only icons I have light up red.
