k222bye
Hi all. So I've put my Supra into storage for a while whilst I'm getting a few bits sorted for it. Anyway I bought myself another project car to keep myself busy. Toyota Celica T sport 2002 4 previous owners 147k miles 190 bhp VVTL-I Leather seats Dog hair everywhere as standard. This is surprisingly rapid and its my first experience of owning the car. Picked it up for £750 lol the previous owner said it had a rod knock but it was actually pinging. Changed the sparks, flushed the fuel system, carbon cleaned the engine and no more noisy lifters or pinging. My biggest gripe with the car is the God awful gearing ratios and the fact you have to really work to get the most out of the engine at 6200 rpm +. Other than that, a steal for me tbh, will keep me busy whilst the Supes garaged.
AC93
Nice, my brother has a 56 plate Celica GT in storm blue, same engine as this just with all the GT bits. I love driving it when I get the chance, it's so light and handles well but agreed the engine needs to be worked to keep it above the 6200rpm lift
evinX
My dads got a 190 vvtli. They grip brilliantly in the wet on corners and roundabout. You can pratcially throw one into a corner at 30 and she will hold and not let go. Careful with the cam bolts, when they rev high the bolts give in, this is a known issue. Ours never makes it into the second power band lol and i hate the quick change gear ratio. Right pita
Wonga Spar
Great car and a total steal! Even after the Supra replaced it I still miss how that engines sounds when you're wringing out. Keen to see what you do with it, I always felt options were unfortunately very limited as it seems to come out the factory with everything the platform could provide! DreamscapeGF
I still have my import 190. It's a go-kart, and love driving it. Its also been a god-send when one of our supra's is off the road, and always gets me home. I should really sell it as it doesn't get used much, but I just can't seem to part with it! AlexJames
I used to have a 190 too, fantastic cars to drive. Mine was lowered so it was even more go-kart like than usual Unfinished Interior (It was finished by the time I sold it:p)
