M4RK RZ
I'm rebuilding my J-Spec brake calipers and wondered what (if any) the original factory paint finish/colour was? Guessing a silver or black / matt or not?
Sheefa
It's more of a Matt dark silver/black yes. The Foliatec Carbon Grey looks great and close to OEM too.
Rob W
As above, the same as what I used and come out spot on IMO.
Burna
My brand new UK calipers were an almost dark green, I was told by Lovatt years ago that that was the stock colour, and he was right when they turned up. Edit: Here's the colour Edited July 5, 2017 by Burna (see edit history)

Ric
He's talking about jspecs Don't think Jspec where that colour? Maybe just a normal black would be fine?
Dnk
Black is the way to go imo on UK or J specs Think the UK rears were a kind of satin/matt black

jackso11
Personally I think if you have big brakes and want to say 'look how big my brakes are!' Then do them whatever colour you want (still personally going to do my uk specs a light graphite colour). If you have little j-spec callipers then do them black so they are nicely hidden and not shouting anything (like look how big/small I am). samm
Done mine with smooth black hammerite spray real easy to use with a nice finish and look great with new stickers, and I've got big brakes but I'm not shouting!
M4RK RZ
Thanks for the replies. I would like to paint my little J-Spec calipers the original colour even if it was yucky green! Could be a similar colour to the engine cover.. hmm.. I'll do a bit more digging to see if I can find an image of a spare.

ripped_fear
Just to throw a spanner in the works. The oem colour changes depending on when your caliper was made some oem are the greeny colour and some our a greyish black colour. Toyota changed the finish a few years back
Dnk
When i replaced my UK's a long time ago now the fronts came green and the rears were black

Sheefa
Green is horrid though. Go black or dark grey.
