UK Front Brakes / Jap' Rears ? ?

Is anyone running UK Front / Jap' Rear Brakes at the moment ? ?

I think/know a few people were , but has everyone now

upgraded their REARS too ? ?

(I would like both but would rather just shell out ~£650 than

~£1400 ! ! ! - as long as it's not VERY UNADVISABLE ?:conf: )

FatS.

[ ps. I understand the Brake-Bias thingy, but I'm also of the opinion

that if you're heavily weight-loading the front-end... WHY do you

want MORE braking at the BACK ? ? - pps. I don't normally HAMMER

my brakes.. it's just that they're not up-to Pod/Woodbridge

mayhem.... ie. STRAIGHT-LINE / DRY braking ! ! just want more

'heat-sink on me' front discs/calipers etc - already got the

slight tremor of front discs warp from 100+ speeds :( ]

just had the UK's fitted to the front and still running the japs on the back.

Seems absolutely fine. I had had a wacky idea about seeing if the old jap fronts would go on the rear but I guess that wouldn't be possible.

I think the pin that presses the pad into the caliper has slipped slightly as there is a slight clamping sound, only audible when reversing slowing.

Is this fairly easy to just slip it back in?

What pin would that be exactly ?

I have just finished my UK upgrade, Fronts done (calipers and disc's) with steel lines and standard pads, rear still jap spec but with ebc pads and steel lines, brakes are f^&*ing ace, really a big difference, also got fluid flushed through and used 5.1

im not going to do the backs this set up is fine,

If i had loads of cash then i probally would do the back but not because they needed it, Its also fair topsay at this point that my car is standard power wise, and i guess anything above 370 -400 bhp may need more help, just to be safe,

Thanks for the feedback lads,

I had to put the order in today 'cos me dad leaves there next

week, SO, I thought, even if I don't want/need the backs NOW

at some stage I'll have to renew the back discs/pads ! !:(

and, I'd have to pay ~£300 just for more Jap' stuff ?

(of course I'll STILL have the Jap stuff as 'spare' anyway)

SO, I've ordered the lot even though I might just fit fronts first.

If for no other reason than to give others some more 'feedback'

for future 'upgraders' ? !

I'll fit fronts... bleed everything nicely (including backs !) and give

it all a nice try-out.:D

THEN, I'll fit the rears and try to assess any difference.

WHO has disposed of the 'dust-shields' completely, and, who has

just 'cut-them-down' to clear the new discs ? ? ? ?:conf:

......GGGGGGrrrrrrrrrzzzzziiiinnnnnnng!.....

Isn't it hard sometimes to find a VISIBLE expression of a sound ? ?

(is that onomatopoeia ? ? - never very good at English Lit'

PASSED the O-level, but still no good at it:p )

I haven't found a REALLY good 'phrase for the Homer-Drooling-Noise...

AARRRRRRLLLLLLLLLLL ! ! is about my best stab so far.... ? ?:conf:

But that doesn't LOOK gutteral enough ! !

[i know this has nothing to do with UK spec' brakes but.....

..........I DON'T CARE:innocent: ]

Pad knock is what it is then
The pads click as you press the brake pedal while reversing.

The only parts you NEED to have are the two pins 47748B, the spring clip that holds the pins in 47748A, and the anti-rattle spring 47748. The shims 47744 and 47745 cut down brake squeel. If you fit everything correctly and run standard pads, all should be quiet.
