Any Gmail experts here?

New posts made by myself show on a technical forum, but if I reply to a post the reply is not visible reading the forum via e-mail, I am using The Bat! e-mail client, but they are all visible if I log in using the gmail front end. The forum is hosted by an elderly and unmanned software application and is run by blacksheep.org I am unsure if it's a forum issue or a gmail setting issue, can anyone give me advice as to how to pinpoint and resolve the issue please, assuming it's within the gmail settings? Thanks. If my explanation of what I am (not) seeing isn't clear I'll try again :) Thanks.

If you can see the email within the gmail web interface in the inbox (not a folder) then it isn't something Google is doing, it's how The Bat! is deciding not to download or show them.

Last time I saw something like this it was due to illegal characters in a folder where somebody had set a rule for the emails to go into automatically, the IMAP client then wouldn't download that folder due to a backslash I think.

As a test you could try another IMAP client like Thunderbird, just to see if it's appearing there.

Hang on...did you say it's your SENT items that aren't appearing?

If so that will most likely be due to mapping of the Sent / Trash IMAP folders within The Bat!

No it's a one forum issue, my mail app shows mail in either or both plain text and html. It's just that after I make a post of my own as a new subject, which I can see just fine, any replies to it do not show at all, are not even downloaded and in the mail apps log. it's as if some GMAIL setting is stopping replies being sent to my e-mail address, yet lets the opening post through. Just the one forum, the server software is apparently ancient, the owner disappeared, and it trundles on, working as it sees fit. I had to open a GMAIL account as it would not accept any posts from my .tv address, it gave them a huge spam score and spat them out again. Thanks for the ideas, guess i will have to just view this mailing list via the GMAIL interface itself. Bloody computers..... :)
