I want the forum to stay, and be like it was 10 years ago.

Its funny coming back after such a long gap, its obviously a lot quieter but going through some old classic threads that I remember, a lot of people have got banned! I must have missed a LOT of drama!

On the plus side, even if it is quieter, at least questions seemed to get answered still, so the knowledge is still here.

I have been a Club member on here since late 2014 and since I was looking of a Supra to buy I had to buy Club Membership so I got a years worth and ended up a getting MKIV later in early 2015.

Again, I was looking for some parts to buy around late 2015/early 2016 so bought another year.

Wasn't using the forum much after but in early 2017 I needed something and was struggling with sending messages so I bought another Club Membership for another year...

I've been trying to contact a few folk to help me at least upgrade to Lifetime (as I paid it 3 times now and it say in the sticky to get in touch) but I can't even send a damn message, been having real problems contacting people on here this year...:(

You'll have to forgive me, I don't use this forum often so I don't know how everything works etc..

IIRC that's roughly how it went down, they must a have a more precise record.

If someone could help me out that would be great.

Thanks

I have added lifetime membership to your account.

:)

The way the club is going as far as this forum is concerned i can see traders not bothering to stay on here in

the near future

It has been a bit 'off', but don't worry it's all in hand and changes are a coming, normal and better service will be resumed shortly :)

The forum could and maybe should be reorganised so that the technical section is on a pay per listing or pay per view for non members as that is the gold mine of information that could be mined for years to come. With the lack of traffic I doubt traders see much return. Except maybe OPIE as they are the one trader that posts offers fairly regularly but I've used other forum (mainly off the Scoobie forum) OPIE codes to buy oil when I've needed some.

New mods and a new focus is needed otherwise years of archive knowledgebase risks being lost.

A few of us were chatting to Branners at Wroxall about this.

I think that most of this forum shouldn't be visible to google and non members.

So much information is out there easily read.

Not sure how easy it would be to sort that though.

It would be good if we could revamp the guides section in line with setting up a pay-wall to access the technical resource - some of the guides posted no longer have the relevant images etc.

For someone like myself with no background in cars, mechanical work etc then the technical section is a messiah and as a Supra owner, it is worth paying the membership fee just for this alone.

It would be really handy to have step-by-step guides for carrying out basic work on the supra (along with the more advanced stuff) with pictures and a write-up. Whilst the Toyota workshop manuals are excellent, nothing beats a picture of a real world example and things to look out for which the Toyota manual doesn't cover. I know some members have already done some in the past but maybe we could all pull together to get some guides updated and created.

I used a handy guide written by another member to change my crank pulley, helped more than just using the workshop manual. As I start to do more work to the car myself then I will be starting to try and put some together.

Just my 2 cents!

It would be very simple to do, but possibly time consuming unless it is just a tick box.

You would organise the forums you wish, the same as Members only.

I will try and do some basic mechanics stuff if you like as I agree there are often little things that when you are starting help massively. I've done some write ups before but often neglect the pictures, an important part but one that is a pita when you are doing a job.

If you need any advice in the meantime feel free to pm me, I've been where you are!
