foggy147
Just wondered if anyone on here offers a wheel trimming service? Just purchased a second hand Mono Jet wheel and would like to get it re-trimmed. Basically looking for the top and bottom to be a carbon fibre trim and then the sides to be black leather, leaving the carbon fibre thumb rest in place? If anyone can offer this please PM me with a cost and I can send the wheel no problem, I'm in Warrington so if anyone is local I can drop it in cheers
Frank Bullitt
Hide n Seat - http://www.hidenseat.co.uk Simon provides an amazing service and quick turn around. Quite as few members on here have used him.
foggy147
Ok thanks will give them a go. Also how easy is it to swap a wheel over, I don't have cruistle control and it's a facelift car. The wheel has come with a Supra boss so hoping its just a straight swap? Never done one before so no idea what to expect!
Frank Bullitt
I think in theory that is pretty much it in a nut shell
foggy147
In terms of the airbag, I've read this can just be left unplug and won't cause any airbag lights to come on the dash? As long as the battery is disconnected prior to any installation?
Chris Wilson
I would certainly expect and hope a disconnected air bag WOULD flag a light and a code. There are ways around having a disconnected or removed one NOT show a light or code, not sure how legal it is....
Frank Bullitt
You could just take the bulb out
foggy147
Managed to find a boss that seems to have a resistor cable built in for the airbag light. Looks similar to the whifbitz one:
foggy147
Decided against aftermarket, so I've just ordered the airbag adapter 0908200760 so I can just do a straight swap for a Celica steering wheel. Keeps it OEM without sacrificing any safety. So now on the lookout for a good condition celica wheel if anyone has one let me know.
Frank Bullitt
Airbag here - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2000-2005-TOYOTA-CELICA-T-SPORT-GEN-7-DRIVER-AIR-BAG-AIRBAG-FOR-STEERING-WHEEL-/252548866909?hash=item3acd15e35d:g:q9QAAMXQoiJRgmBA Cheap where here - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2000-2005-TOYOTA-CELICA-T-SPORT-GEN-7-STEERING-WHEEL-/381780036005?hash=item58e3dd09a5:g:qTcAAOxyZw5RbBTZ Maybe the seller will combine postage if you buy the two and you can send the wheel of for re-upholstering.
