cainhead
Hello, Bit of advice needed. Bought a T87 turbo kit second hand of Keron last year. It was a bit of an impulse buy but I feel I got a good deal. It also gave me a project and kept my mind away from the bad year I had. Anyway I knew the turbo would have loads of lag but thought I could change it down the line. I'm not in a rush to change but I keep seeing the odd precession turbo pop up for sale and it's peaked my curiosity. So what would recommendations be. I'm looking for something to get me to around 650hp that has a smooth power curve and spoils nice and early. The manifold is a twin scroll T4, and have had all supporting fuel and ecu upgrades to suppport decent power. I have seen a new 6262 up for sale and would love some opinions on that model and other recommendations. Many thanks in advance

Sheefa
Precision 6266 journal mate will get you 700 and very quick spooling for around £900 too.
Supraleeturbo
I have a brand new precision 6262 for sale with a polished housing 850 pounds and it's yours and rated to 705bhp
bignum
Borg is the more reliable unit, slightly slower spool though.but rebuildable.

cainhead
Just having a look and have found one new for around £780. When looking through the options, would t4 divided mean twin scroll? Also I don't understand the .84 - 1.0 - 1.15 a/r and so on, what would I need to look for. Cheers Precision 6266 journal mate will get you 700 and very quick spooling for around £900 too. /QUOTE]
Sheefa
Correct on T4 mate and personally always divided to keep gases seperate. Go for 1.0 area radius (a/r) housing as still makes quick spool but more flow at the middle ground. Most people opt for this for good reason. Guest Budz86
FYI the smaller the a/r, the faster the spool, but less overall top end power. In this case 0.84 being the fastest spooling, but won't make as much HP overall. The 1.15 will have more lag compared to the other two housings, but will make the most power. As Greg says, 1.0 is the best middle ground and most go down this route
cainhead
Appreciate the education on this. The 1.0 ar sound a bout right, I'm not looking for massive power, just something that picks up through the whole power band. With a 6262/66 Whalen would you expect to see boost in terms of rpm Thanks again Edited May 28, 2017 by cainhead (see edit history)
Chris Bailey
6266 journal or GEN2, easily will make 700bhp with the correct supporting mods.
np89
Im making 745 on a Precision 6466 gen2 vband. You'd have to change your manifold but weighing up spool with top end power its a pretty good option. The spool on mine is thay good that my car makes a bar revving in neutral
