Annabella
Sure leaving a lot of flaming fuel behind! Cannot believe some of the 'cars' on there, stretched Granada Limo, black hack ffs! They do cause a big hazard to the others as they're so slow in comparison.

j_jza80
That is not a clever way to drive on the Ring, no matter how good he is or thinks he is at driving. And what's with the flames? I assume his mapping must be terrible.

j_jza80
Hes treating it like a go kart circuit. Half the danger at the ring is you never know who and what's around the next corner, especially on a tourist day. Kicking the back end out, just out of a corner, approaching a blind peak in the road is dumb. He'd have been flagged at a UK track for doing that, and the Ring is much more dangerous than anything we have here. You see showoffs a lot there, they see the photographers hanging around on the corner, then do something dumb. No coincidence that these places are also where people end up spinning and even crashing their cars a lot.
Al Massey
But a "professional" driver is ok to do it? We've all seen the pros fly into the air and crash.
j_jza80
I would hope a professional would know better than to drive like that on what looks to be a fairly busy tourist day with the general public. I love the place, and understand how easy it is to get carried away, but I've also seen first hand what it can do to people who don't respect it. https://www.carthrottle.com/post/two-people-were-killed-in-a-tragic-nurburgring-touristenfahrten-crash-at-the-weekend/

The photographers watch that spot because it's a notoriously rough corner I thought, not the other way around?

bignum
I thought it was ok ish but as jay said abit dodgy, they`re really strict from this year towards drifting and dangerous driving, surprised he didn`t get a ban if a marshal had seen it. Annabella
Doing a fast track time or in a race and there's a crash Al that's fine, if it's your car and someone's dicking about, damages your car, injures you, being smart and trying to look cool for a camera and you're ok with that? Think the whole point of going to the ring is to get a fast track time. And you do need extra insurance to go on there as it's a racetrack so you should be in the right mindset to be there. And he passed the GTR in a safe bit, just his little twitch on the bend.

Actually, it's now a public road, first and foremost All of the rules of the road apply. And as I said before, even if it was a race track, you'd get flagged for that. 3) Vehicles must drive on the right, in particular when overtaken, on crests, in bends or in case of breakdown. 1) Regulations regarding speed, as defined under Art. 3, Sect. 1 of the German Highway Code, must be adhered to. Which Laurens tells us essentially says that you must be in full control of your vehicle whatever speed you're travelling at, a most sensible approach to traffic law - Ben http://nurburgring.org.uk/ringrules.php Do you think it is acceptable to drive like that on a busy road? If you re-read what I said, on a race track doing a race time and you crash that's fine. If someone crashes into me because there messing about I'd be pissed. For what it's worth young chap I've been on plenty of tracks.
bignum
Don`t get me wrong, I`m all up for having abit of fun but the ring is not the place to do it, i think alot of people have got the wrong impression of what the ring is about, like its a free for all messing about doing skids n drifts etc its going to cost when it goes wrong, Ok Rob got away with hooning around that part of the track but tbh he came into the 2nd part(brunchen2) way too hot and if there had of been oil or coolant down then i don`t care how good a driver they are he`d have been off, so its not worth taking the risk especially on a busy open day with no insurance.
