I especially like his description of the v160 boxes feel You could tell he had a real soft spot for the Supra! I think it was a forgone conclusion after the first paragraph where his vote was going. Alex_GT
Great article and big kudos for getting your motor featured. 300ZX looks so dated compared to the Supra The Z32 300ZX is one of the best looking cars ever made. It looks no more dated than the Supra.

blythmrk
Yes, but both are products of their time. Both are dated now. I do think the MKiv Supra has aged very well I owed a mk1 Escort when it was 24 years old and it felt ancient (that was 20 years ago) I have always thought the 300zx's are more near a mkiii Supra especially in size. Alex_GT
With that greatest of respect that statement is absolute bollocks. Well the reason they both exist is because that's what people were buying at the time. Neither Toyota or Nissan have any cars that fit the class of the Supra/300ZX now, because people would rather buy these god forsaken crossover abortions of automobile design. Guest Rsb
The Z32 300ZX is one of the best looking cars ever made. It looks no more dated than the Supra. I was only stating my opinion - thought I would be safe on the Supra forum :-) I have heard that the MKIV Supra was being developed around 1990 when the 300ZX came out and Toyota redesigned it due to the ZX so it likely influenced the Supra in many ways. I thought the Nissan was a great looking car and it still appeals but the Supra in my eyes was ahead of its time design wise and now looks almost modern. Also, the engine with the turbo set up with minimal lag is something we take for granted now. In some ways the interior also feels more up market than the Nissan perhaps influenced by Lexus and in the UK the Supra seemed more modern with dual airbags etc. I do like the removable roof on the Nissan. They are both excellent cars, it is good to see they are even more relevant today as a reminder of a lost era of motoring.
rider
When I bought my Supra in 1999 I also considered the 300ZX as an equivalent. That's how it was back then. Both cars in production but the 300ZX was more of a wide bodied cruiser and nearing the end of its production run. The 300ZX was more styled to that early 80's clear lines Filofax era which made it appealing that has also dated it (akin in many ways to the Supra MkIII body style) relative to the curvaceous MkIV Supra body which still, today, looks almost current apart from a lack of running LEDs. When I think back 20 years ago, it wasn't a clear choice that to most it appears to be today. However, I am certain if I had bought a 300ZX in 1999, I wouldn't still own it today. j_jza80
. It looks no more dated than the Supra. I really like the z32, but it hasn't aged anywhere near as well as the supra. If you look at the two designs, the supra has far more in common with most modern GT's, having curved and flared wings. The z32 has large Windows and is very slab sided in comparison, which makes it look dated.
AndyJax
Ain't anywhere as reliable as the Supra either.Used to really fancy both the 300ZX and the Mitsi GTO,thank God I never bought either of these money pits.
