Because there are too many polymers/additives that apparently coagulate if not able to adhere to places that need it/havent already got a coating, within the autobox. If it hasn't been changed for years and years then I think it's fine, but changing all of it regularly does more harm than good. 2 litre drain and swap is the advisory.
