Dnk
Anyone been to Seville and got any recommendations for a nice place to stop Was planning a trip there when i go to Spain in September, it's around 2 1/2 hour drive from the villa so i'm thinking of stopping overnight rather than spend half the day driving. They have a great tour bus which you can hop on and off all day so i shall be using that.
blythmrk
I went around 15 years ago with my ex she spoke fluent Spanish which was very lucky as at that time it was not really very tourist friendly! Fantastic place and very cultural although we were there when it was fiesta week and think we got the last available hotel room in Seville as we just got a flight to Malaga and hired a car and did Seville, Gibraltar and Benalmadena all without booking any hotels. We had a walk around the expo 92 site which was simply abandoned including the monorail system like a ghost town. We even went to see a bull fight for the experience! I would love to visit again one day.
Hemanhead
Yes I have been a few times. Its not a big place, and I wouldn't say there was a great deal to see, it's just a lovely place to be. The cathedral and its orangery are nice, I did see a tour group walking around on the roof when I walked up the main tower, so might be worth a look. Okay food, nice patisserie's and Gin bars. Id agree with the above sentiment, the Spanish don't really like tourists.

blythmrk
Yes thanks for the input, just trying to find a decent hotel now with parking Our hotel had a car park (I cannot recall the name sorry) but it was extremely tight and full so we parked in one of the many underground pay and display ones. Are you in the Supra? I remember we hired a Hyundai Matiz with 7 miles on the clock when we collected it. I really enjoyed running it in for them:d It took us around 3 hours from Malaga but enjoyed every minute. Enjoy your trip!

Dnk
Think i've found a better place to stop, easier to get to and very close to one of the tour bus stops, just on the other side of the river so i won't have the fun of trying to navigate round the old town https://www.barcelo.com/en-gb/hotels/spain/andalusia/seville/barcelo-sevilla-renacimiento/
