Chris Wilson
Any solar panel knowledgeable folk here? I am toying with using 5 off 12V lead acid accumulators in series to power a device that draws about 30 Amps at 60V from about 7PM to 8.00AM every night. (1.8 kW). What sort of array would be needed to have a good chance of recharging them during the day in the Midlands, UK, if the idea is viable at all? I have no other interest in using the panels, and they could be roof or ground mounted. Thanks.
ibby
The duty cycle of the battery eg dod will depend how long they will last. The lower the go the more frequently you will need to replace them. You will need atleast 3x the capacity in storage you use. Each panel is around 300 watt and I recon you would need 6 of them working on 50% availability.
