Don't see why not. I think modern day life is mostly electronic correspondence. Banks messages, insurance docs by email etc. Job applications via online portals.

This is standard in all contract T&Cs these days ;-)

The email part I would question, I would expect maybe a phone call and then an email follow up to confirm, they can assume you check your email every minute of the day

The contract will include a 24-hour written notification clause but it's unlikely to include such things as phone calls.

 

EDIT: You're probably looking at this from a courtesy standpoint. I would agree with that sir.
